Getting Started

  • Visit

  • Login to your Career Center Connections portal using your MyState username and password

  • Click on My Account (the last tab on the left side of the homepage)

  • Complete the Personal, Academic, and Experiential Learning Application sections

Schedule a Visit

  • Call 662-325-3823 or come by 335 McCain Hall to schedule a visit with your experiential learning coordinator

  • Bring a copy of your résumé to 335 McCain or submit it to

  • Plan to attend semester events as listed below

  • Check your email regularly for important notices from the program office

  • Report your offer to the program office, complete placement paperwork, and register your co-op/internship before leaving campus

Information Sessions

These are offered during early fall and spring semester usually in McCool over two to three weeks with dates and times posted on the semester handout.

All Applied Meeting

This meeting is held at the begin of fall and spring semesters to kick off Career Fair, Co-op and Intern Interview Days events. All student interested in applying for interviews during the semester should attend. Dates are posted on the semester handout.

Career Expo

This event is scheduled over two days during fall and spring to allow networking with potential employers.

Co-op and Internship Interview Days

Offered during fall and spring semesters with prior sign up required.

Other Campus Recruiting

Job postings and interviews are available during fall and spring semester to employers that prefer to schedule individual campus dates.

Individual Mock Interviews

These are available by appointment at 662-325-3344 or 662-325-3823.

Program Ambassadors

Ambassadors promote the Cooperative Education and Internship Program around campus and serve as peer advisors to students in need of career assistance.


Ambassador applications are collected in March of each year. New ambassadors for each academic year are named in May. For an application, visit the program office at 335 McCain.

  • Enhance your presentation skills

  • Interact with potential employers

  • Explore career resources

  • Advise program staff on student needs


  • Must have completed a three-term co-op or 2 formal internship experiences

  • Minimum 2.50 GPA

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work 12-15 hours per week
