Strong Interest Inventory Group Workshop

The Strong Interest Inventory Group Workshops are designed to help students understand their interests and explore how those interests connect to majors and career options at Mississippi State University.

Prior to attending the workshop, students are required to complete the Strong Interest Inventory Career Assessment, which serves as the foundation for the workshop discussion. A $20 fee for the assessment will be charged to the student’s Banner account.

How It Works:

• Students must RSVP for a workshop session.
• After registering, students will receive an email with a link to complete the Strong Interest Inventory.
• The $20 assessment fee will be applied to the student’s Banner account once the assessment is administered.
• After completing the assessment, students will receive a confirmation email indicating that their results were successfully received.
• The assessment must be completed at least 24 hours prior to the workshop to ensure results are available.

What to Expect in the Workshop:

• A guided explanation of the Strong Interest Inventory results
• Understanding key themes, interest areas, and occupational connections
• Discussion of how results can inform major and career exploration
• Opportunities for questions and reflection in a supportive group setting
• Facilitation by a Career Center exploration expert

Students do not need to have a major or career decided. This workshop is designed to help students interpret and use their results as a tool for exploration, not to make an immediate decision.
