Requisition Summary
Kenworth Division of PACCAR is looking for a highly motivated individual who is interested in gaining professional Design experience in an industry-leading manufacturing company to join our 2025 Internship Program in Renton, WA.
The R&D Engineering Intern will contribute their skills and ideas to support the Kenworth R&D Engineering team on a combination of advanced development and current projects. They will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers as well as technicians to design and build future KW designs for evaluation and test.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a creative and motivated Graphic Design Intern who will play a pivotal role in supporting both our Industrial Design and Product Planning teams. This internship provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in graphic design with a strong emphasis on internal and external branding strategies, while closely collaborating with industrial designers and product planners to enhance product presentation and messaging. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for design, a keen eye for detail, and a collaborative spirit.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Development:

Conceptualize visual brand assets that inspire new marketing initiatives and drive future brand guidelines.

Bring a fresh perspective to the future visual identity of Kenworth brand assets, with an emphasis on creating consistency across brand touchpoints.
Graphic Design:
-
Design compelling graphics for various applications, including product promotional materials, social media content, and presentations that reflect the essence of our products.
Collaboration with Industrial Design:

Work closely with the Industrial Design team to translate product concepts and features into effective visual communications that enhance the brand narrative.

When needed, assist the Industrial Design and Engineering teams with the creation of any branded assets on our vehicles, including interior and exterior badges, trailer visuals, and special edition features.
Internal Communications:

Create engaging visuals for internal communications, including updates and presentations that foster collaboration and innovation among teams.
Research & Trends:
-
Stay informed about design trends, particularly in the realm of product design and branding, to contribute fresh ideas that elevate our visual identity.
Feedback & Revisions:

Participate in design reviews, incorporating feedback from both marketing and industrial design teams to refine and enhance design concepts.
Project Management:

Assist in managing multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with branding goals and timely delivery of high-quality materials.
Qualifications:
-
Pursuing (or will be graduating with) a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Art Direction, Industrial Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other graphic design tools.

Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and creativity, with a focus on branding and product-related projects.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly in collaborative settings.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-disciplinary team environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow within the fields of graphic and industrial design.
