This Recruiter I role focuses on high-volume, top-of-funnel recruiting and sourcing across a variety of job families, including non-technical, hardware, data engineering, and software development roles. You identify and engage passive candidates, conduct initial phone screens, coordinate assessments and business interviews, and prepare candidates throughout the process. You support an experimental, agile recruiting project that rapidly deploys recruiting resources to areas of highest demand, working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment with clear weekly and monthly targets. Role is 100% onsite in Austin, TX

Responsibilities

  • Source and attract passive candidates for a wide range of roles, including non-technical, hardware, data engineering, and software development positions.

  • Manage top-of-funnel recruiting activities, including candidate outreach, initial engagement, and pipeline building.

  • Conduct phone screens to assess candidate qualifications, interest, and alignment with role requirements.

  • Coordinate and schedule assessments and business phone screens with hiring teams and stakeholders.

  • Prepare candidates for interviews by setting expectations and providing guidance on process and next steps.

  • Perform reference checks, support offer processes, and assist with orientation activities for new employees as needed.

  • Support exit interviews and changes in employee status when required.

  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate data and activity tracking within the applicant tracking system (ATS) and Excel-based reports.

  • Generate and share regular recruiting reports and metrics to track progress against weekly and monthly targets.

  • Collaborate closely with recruiting peers, recruiting managers, and other stakeholders to align on priorities and hiring needs.

  • Follow established recruiting processes, guidelines, and instructions while working under the direction of a supervisor or manager.

  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and new role types, focusing on roles and job families with the most immediate hiring demand.

  • Participate in team meetings and knowledge sharing to continuously improve sourcing strategies and candidate experience.

Essential Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or a closely related field.

  • Proven experience sourcing and recruiting passive candidates, especially for niche or hard-to-fill roles.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a high volume of qualified candidates within tight timeframes.

  • Experience working as a recruiter or talent acquisition specialist, in either corporate or agency environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS).

  • Working knowledge of Excel for tracking candidates, metrics, and reporting.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage candidates professionally and persuasively.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal- and productivity-oriented environment with weekly and monthly metrics.

  • Comfort using commonly accepted recruiting concepts, practices, and procedures while following established guidelines and instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience recruiting for technology-focused organizations or large enterprises, including Fortune 500 companies.

  • Background in agency recruiting, especially for corporate or technical roles.

  • Sourcing experience for corporate and technology positions, rather than only processing inbound applicants.

  • Familiarity with high-volume recruiting environments that emphasize data, metrics, and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple recruiting teams and stakeholders across different job families.

  • Openness to structured onboarding and training, including participation in a dedicated recruiter ramp program.
